About the cottage
The cabin is located about 6 km southwest of Ružomberok, right on the slopes
of Malinô Brdo (1,211 m a.s.l.) in the heart of Liptov. Májekova Chata is not just another
spot on the map of mountain lodgings. It is part of the story of Malinô Brdo and Veľká Fatra,
a story that has been unfolding for decades. Construction began in 1968, and it was
opened in 1974 as a distinctive mountain chalet that naturally became
a hub for hikers, skiers, and mountain lovers alike.
It is located in one of the most famous recreational and ski areas of northern
Slovakia, where for generations people with a love of exercise, nature, and mountain
adventures have gathered. From its very beginnings, Májková Chalet has been closely tied to the mountain
environment, hiking, and services for visitors to this area. It is named after
Jozef Májka, a prominent figure associated with the Ružomberok region, thereby
preserving not only its history but also the strong identity of the place.

Chatár na Majekovej chate je veľmi priateľský, otvorený, komunikatívny a vždy nám vyšiel v ústrety. Personál ma veľmi milý a keď sa po šťastí a varia, ak majú hostí, tak varia naozaj dobre, naposledy robili domáce langoše a gulasik. Miesto je ideálne aj pre deti, chata im poskytuje vonkajšie ihrisko a vnútri majú parádny detský kútik a na WC dokonca, ako dcérka hovorí, majú aj medzikus 😂 odporúčam na relax a odputanie sa od civilizácie a mesta.
